2025 QSF and FQ Competition structure
A Survey was sent last month to all QSF & FQ schools regarding current competitions, and the results were discussed at a QSF Executive and FQ meeting on Monday 10 June. Ideas were shared about a restructure of "school Futsal" for next year, with a priority of providing Futsal all year round in as many age groups as possible and reducing time away from classes for students and staff. Offering competitions in primary school years is important to grow the popularity of the sport.
Below is a summary of what is proposed for 2025 but dates are still to be confirmed.
VETO Sports SFL - U12/U14/U16/OPENS - One Gala Day per term (Term1/2/3) and Finals in Term 4 with 4 conferences (Central conference to play Gala days)
Opens competition confined to Semester 1
QSF Metropolitan League - Independent Weekly fixtures competition for U12, U14, U16 and Opens with Finals Day in Term 4.
18 Matches - 9 home and 9 away - over 3 terms (6 matches per term) for a 10-team competition
FQ Futsal - U13/U15/OPENS - school country regionals Term 2 and SEQ in Term 3 with a championship day in Term 3 (for those who qualify) and a National Carnival in Term 4
Always Veto Knockout Cup - U12 and U14 - Rounds 1 - 3 through Terms 1, 2 & 3 with Finals at the end of Term 3
QSF CUP- U12 and U14 - a Regional QSF Cup in Pen/Nth and a regional in WB/Cap at the end of Term 2 and a SEQ QSF Cup at the end of Term 3 with winners qualifying for an ASF Cup Championship in Term 4
